DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1-2: Nairobi & Bomas of Kenya:
Arrive in Nairobi and settle in. The next day, we’ll visit the Bomas of Kenya, a fantastic place to get an overview of Kenya’s diverse tribal cultures through traditional dances, music, and displays of traditional homesteads. You’ll gain a great introduction to the country’s rich heritage.
Day 3-4: Maasai Mara Cultural Encounters:
Journey to the Maasai Mara, not just for wildlife, but also for deeper engagement with the Maasai people. We work with specific communities that welcome visitors to learn about their customs, warrior traditions, and daily life. You might visit a local school or participate in storytelling sessions.
Day 5-6: Lamu Island – A Step Back in Time:
We’ll fly to the enchanting island of Lamu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the ancient Stone Town with its narrow alleyways, traditional Swahili architecture, and bustling markets. Learn about the island’s rich maritime history and the blend of Arab, African, and Indian influences. Enjoy dhow sailing and immerse yourself in the laid-back Swahili culture.
Day 7: Kikuyu Culture near Nairobi:
Return to the Nairobi region and visit a local Kikuyu community in the central highlands. Learn about their agricultural practices, social structures, and traditional ceremonies. Enjoy a traditional meal and gain insights into the traditions of Kenya’s largest ethnic group.
Day 8: Departure
Transfer to the airport for your departure, carrying the echoes of Kenya’s vibrant cultures with you.
